a couple of weeks ago it was thought up that a few philly females should have a clothing swap. it was a great idea, since so many of us have piles of perfectly good clothes that we don’t get the chance to wear. everything that wasn’t swapped was put into bags and donated to a women’s shelter. a friend was kind enough to host it at her house with her adorable dog (clothing swap mascot!) and with a roof deck, mimosas, snacks, and great weather it turned out to be a successful day for everyone.
i (and hopefully everyone else involved) was really happy with the results. we all brought spring/summer clothing and shoes in various sizes, and everyone has different styles. a limit of 15 items per person was set but i quickly forgot it, not sure if i was the only one. hopefully we’ll be able to do this in the fall for the colder seasons. i could go on about the recession and how no one wants to buy clothes these days–which was part of it– but it was also a nice chance to sit outside and enjoy the april day with some ladies.
