A comprehensive guide to Philadelphia

I’m pretty happy to say that I couldn’t have done it better myself. Amazing home interior and lifestyle blog design*sponge has compiled a great list of places to eat, shop and be merry in Philadelphia with the help of Kevin Derrick. Kevin runs the blog DESIGN PHILADELPHIA.

The selections are broken down by neighborhood. You’ll see some of your old favorites.. and perhaps a few spots you didn’t know about.

Make sure to take a look at the guide HERE.

Sweet Jane Vintage Trunk Show

The lovely ladies of South Philly hot spot Sweet Jane have organized an event that combines all of our favorite past times. Drinking, listening to good music and shopping.

Stop by Tattooed Mom on South street tonight between 8 p.m. and 12 midnight to enjoy a vintage trunk show featuring vintage goodies from  local Philly sellers including Sweet Jane Vintage & Records, Puss in boots and Youngloves.

$1 PBRs until 11 o’clock… and plenty of great vintage (at affordable prices) to get your mitts on.

If you can’t make it tonight (like me) you can always visit Sweet Jane’s retail store at 1742 East Passyunk Avenue. I look forward to doing a special feature on this awesome boutique in the near future.

Clothing Swap

a couple of weeks ago it was thought up that a few philly females should have a clothing swap.  it was a great idea, since so many of us have piles of perfectly good clothes that we don’t get the chance to wear. everything that wasn’t swapped was put into bags and donated to a women’s shelter.  a friend was kind enough to host it at her house with her adorable dog (clothing swap mascot!) and with a roof deck, mimosas, snacks, and great weather it turned out to be a successful day for everyone.

i (and hopefully everyone else involved) was really happy with the results. we all brought spring/summer clothing and shoes in various sizes, and everyone has different styles.  a limit of 15 items per person was set but i quickly forgot it, not sure if i was the only one. hopefully we’ll be able to do this in the fall for the colder seasons.  i could go on about the recession and how no one wants to buy clothes these days–which was part of it– but it was also a nice chance to sit outside and enjoy the april day with some ladies.
